"Pedestals… mediate between actual site and representational sign." -Rosalind Krauss, Sculpture in the Expanded Field
Directly imposing works, made specifically for the orangery, onto the site without the use of plinths and pedestals, allowing each to sit modestly in the portico, as if camouflaged into the space
The exhibition featured a range of site-specific artworks, conforming to ideas of concealment. From performance and sculpture to video and installation; each in response to the unique architecture of the orangery. The exhibition aims to encourage the currently unused, historical site as a place of creativity.
